Some of the Church Family at launch of Redevelopment Project on 1st March 2009

Message - Rev. John Wiseman

Sketty Methodist church has existed at the heart of the community for over 130 years acting as a beacon and sign of God's embracing love for all.

In order to be able to deal with the demands of a rapidly changing society and worshipping community the church is undergoing a period of redevelopment, one that will provide a base from which to reach out into the community in mission as well as extending a warm welcome to all those looking for a safe refuge, spiritual support and sanctuary from life's storms.

Modern, easily accessible to all, purpose built facilities are a must for any user friendly church and Sketty Methodist Church aims to provide such with its visionary plans to act as a Christian focal point serving the 21st century and far beyond.

Already providing a home from home to various community based groups including folk dancing, scouts, cubs, beavers and brownies, yoga classes and art groups as well as a host of uses by the church's own faith community, through its redevelopment Sketty Methodist church hopes to play its part in the regeneration and revitalization of this area of Swansea.

In order for this vision to become a reality we need the help of local people-that means you. We need your input, your ideas, your prayers and your financial donations. Please support any future fundraising events and help the Methodist Church put 'the cross' at the heart of Sketty.

John
